Catching Up With Gillette

FORT WORTH, Texas - recently sat down with junior Western rider Erin Gillette to find out more about life as a TCU student-athlete.

Gillette garnered seven wins in Horsemanship with one MOP. She also won three of her six conference meets, while recording a 2-2 record in post-season action. 

Which two items would you bring if you had to live on a deserted island?
"I would bring a boat and water if I were stuck on a deserted island."

What is one thing most people don't know about you?
"One thing most people don't know about me is that I like to paint and draw."

What has been the highlight of your equestrian career thus far?
"The highlight of my equestrian career so far is placing in the top-10 in multiple events at the American Quarter Horse Youth World Championship show."

Where is your favorite place to be in the entire world?
"My favorite place to be in the whole entire world is any beach!"

What is the best thing about being a part of TCU equestrian?
"My favorite thing about TCU equestrian is the competition and being able to represent my college while doing what I love."

What is one food that you couldn't live without?
"I could not live without bread!"

If you could play any other sport, what would it be and why?
"If I could play any other sport it would be soccer because I played for 13 years!"

Where is your favorite spot on TCU's campus?
"My favorite spot on TCU's campus is Frog Fountain and the Commons."

If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?
"If I could have one wish granted it would be to be able to fly!"
