Finding Out More About Boyle

FORT WORTH, Texas - Gofrogs.com recently sat down with sophomore Western rider Brooke Boyle to find out more about her life as a TCU student-athlete.

Boyle saw action in 15 meets during her first year on campus, posting a 7-6-2 record in Reining, while garnering two conference victories. She came on late in the year to record a 2-1-1 post-season record.

The California native was named Big 12 Reining Rider of the Month, going undefeated during the month of March, while also gathering one MOP. Overall, she went 3-0-1 during the month, including 2-0-1 against conference foes.

Have you done any equestrian shows this summer? If so, talk a little bit about them.
"I have done a few shows this summer and I'm actually at one right now! I am showing a three-year-old mare by a sire named Colonels Smoking Gun AKA "Gunner".

"Right now, I am preparing to show in Futurities, which helps my horse prepare for Reining by the Bay in a few weeks. It will be the debut of my three-year-old mare! I am very excited to show her for the first time and have a successful run!" 

Which three items would you bring if you had to live on a deserted island?
"I would bring my dog, a tooth brush and water."

What is one thing most people don't know about you?
"My first language was Spanish because I had a Spanish nanny when I was little." 

What has been the highlight of your equestrian career thus far?
"I feel like I have had many highs on the equestrian team this year, but my biggest one probably has to be getting Big 12 Rider of the Month!" 

Where is your favorite place to be in the entire world?
"My favorite place is on a horse because it just feels natural." 

What is the best thing about being a part of TCU equestrian?
"The best thing about being a part of TCU equestrian has to be my teammates because of the support and time is tremendous!" 

What is one food that you couldn't live without?
"Coffee because it's just a necessary in my life!" 

If you could play any other sport, what would it be and why?
"It would probably be tennis. I just have always liked playing tennis for fun at the court by my house!" 

Where is your favorite spot on TCU's campus?
"My favorite spot on TCU's campus is the commons because it has Frog Fountain and that is a major landmark. Also, the view of all the buildings makes TCU look so pretty."
