McMullen Selected for AQHA Challenge

FORT WORTH, Texas - Sophomore Megan McMullen was recently selected to participate in the 2014 American Quarter Horse Association Collegiate Horsemanship Challenge.

The Tennessee product had a banner first year on campus as she went 8-7-1 overall in Horsemanship, including 4-2-0 during league play. She garnered conference victories over Baylor and Kansas State, while also posting a draw against nationally ranked Georgia, who captured the 2014 NCEA National Championship. 

McMullen, who is one of only eight NCEA riders chosen nationally, joins her sister Lindsey (Oklahoma State) as the only other Big 12 Conference rider selected to compete in Oklahoma City between Nov. 19-20. In all, the preliminaries will take place Wednesday, Nov. 19 beginning at 11 a.m. CT, while the finals are set for 5:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 20.
