Sept. 20, 2012
FORT WORTH, Texas - GoFrogs.com sits down with Haley Jacobi to talk about the upcoming season and the role she would like to have as a senior.
Describe how are you feeling coming into the 2012 season?
"I am very excited about the upcoming 2012 season! This is our first time having the opportunity to participate in a conference and as a senior, I cannot wait to have this experience."
Talk about the role you want to fill as a senior on this years team?
"I would love to serve as a role model when it comes to my riding ability, as well as someone to look up to as a model student. I have a lot going on and would love to show girls how it is possible to fulfill all of your duties as a student-athlete and employee with grace and responsibility. I am a listener and love to fill the role as the shoulder to cry on. Overall, I want to serve as a girl that my teammates can count on in many ways and one that they can look up to."
How do you feel like you have improved over the summer?
"Over the summer, I have improved my mindset. I have always been one to be extremely self critical and one that over analyzes every mistake. This summer, I worked a lot on my mind frame and keeping myself at a place where I am not so self deprecating."
How do you feel about the facility change? What do you like about it?
"I love our new facility. It is a place that we can truly can truly call home and make it our own. The facility is a great place for both English and Western. It's a place where we can come together as a team because of the close proximity of the arenas. Our horses are able to be well cared for and they all seem to be loving the conditions! I cannot thank TCU enough for providing this facility for the Equestrian team. It will truly be an asset to the success of our 2012 and future seasons."
Going into this season what preparations have you been making to be the best rider you can be?
"I have been taking care of my body physically along with being mentally strong. I have also been taking every opportunity to ride and making sure I attack practice as I would a game."
