FORT WORTH, TEXAS -- The No. 6 ranked TCU Equestrian team opens its season on Friday in a split scrimmage featuring the Western team from North Central Texas and the Hunt Seat team from Texas Tech. The start time is set for 1:30 p.m. with Equitation over Fences and Horsemanship at Turning Point Ranch in Springtown, Texas.

"We are very excited to start our season on Friday against Texas Tech and NCTC. This is a great opportunity to assess our game day strengths and weaknesses. We have a very young team and a lot of talent that we are looking forward to putting to the test."

Scouting the Frogs
The Frogs have 15 new faces on the squad, all bringing impressive accolades under their belts. Nine will be competing on the Western side, six in Hunt Seat. Each of the fifteen have at least one Champion title.

The Hunt Seat side will see action from three new faces, Raegan Rast from Stillwell, Kan., Abby Albrecht from Austin, Texas, and Janelle Henningsen from Centennial, Colo. Rast will compete in both disciplines while Albrecht will compete in Equitation on the Flat and Henningsen in Equitation over Fences.

In Western, look out for Lucie Lundquist from Seattle, Wash., Anna Hauter from Marshall, Ill., Mary Katherine Camp from Longview, Texas and Cydney Benes from Boca Raton, Fla. as the new faces in Horsemanship. Reining will see Tessa Lindberg from Lafayette, Calif., Mackenzie Preston from Kent, Wash., Josie Ferrante from Somis, Calif. and Adrianna Adams from Oakdale, Calif.

A Look Back
This summer, 14 riders competed in a total of 20 events and shows. Overall, the Frogs came away with 11 Champion titles, one High Point and one Reserve High Point, two top-5 placings and two top-10 placings.

TCU enters the year after appearing in its second-straight NCEA National Championship semifinals last season. The Frogs upset No. 1 Baylor in the quarterfinals of the championship before finishing the season No. 3 in the final NCEA poll.
