FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU has announced that men's tennis duo Nick Chappell and Will Stein and equestrian rider Chantz Stewart are its Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week for their recent performances.
Chappell and Stein led a valiant effort in doubles play at the ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa this past weekend, reaching the semifinals before falling to the top seeds of the tournament. The event is part of the collegiate grand slam, which had more than 200 student-athlete participants. Chappell and Stein are the first Horned Frogs to reach the tournament semifinal since head coach David Roditi and Paul Robinson won it in 1994.
TCU's next tournament is the USTA Futures in Houston, which started Oct. 7 and will run until Oct. 20.
Stewart earned MOP honors in Reining as the No. 8 Horned Frogs swept No. 7 Baylor, 5-0, in their home opener on Saturday. Her 73.5-70.5 win led the way to an 11-9 overall victory on the day for TCU.
The Horned Frogs will look to continue their winning ways when they host Kansas State at Turning Point Ranch in Springtown at 11 a.m. on Oct. 19.
