Oct. 19, 2017

FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 6 ranked TCU equestrians will take on the No. 1 Georgia team at home at Turning Point Ranch in Springtown, Texas on Friday.

Last Time Out
The Frogs come into Friday’s meet after winning a dual meet in Delaware hosted by Delaware State. TCU downed No. 10 DSU 10-5 after the Western riders came away with two MOP accolades thanks to Claire Dittrich in Reining and Josie Mootz in Horsemanship.

Against UT-Martin, TCU walked away with a close 8-7 victory over the Skyhawks. Freshman Adrianna Adams had her third MOP title of her young career, scoring the high point in Reining with a 70.5 point ride.

All-Time Series
The Bulldogs have the lead in the all-time series against the Frogs, holding a 7-4 record. The last time the two teams met was in April of 2016, where TCU came away with a 10-5 victory against Georgia in the Semifinals of the NCEA Championship.

Scouting the Frogs
Against Georgia, the Frogs have some key talent to present.

In Hunt Seat, the Frogs pull high-scoring seniors Carley Barnett, Jayme Omand and Emelie Burgess to compete. Barnett and Omand will compete in both Fences and Flat, and Burgess will be right at home riding out in Flat. Freshman Alex Beneson and sophomore Patty Gill will also compete in both disciplines, and peer Raegan Rast will see time in the saddle in Fences.

Riding out for Western in Reining, familiar faces Claire Dittrich and Carly Lombard will ride again along with freshmen Adrianna Adams, Tessa Lindberg and Mackenzie Preston. In Horsemanship, riding are regulars Laska Anderson, Jamie Cook, Marah Huston and Josie Mootz along with skilled newcomer Cydney Benes in Horsemanship.

Scouting the Dawgs
Georgia has competed twice this season along with a scrimmage, winning 10-8 against Fresno State and 12-4 against Texas A&M. The Bulldogs moved up to No. 1 in the NCEA Top 10 this week after knocking off the Aggies, the previous No. 1, last week.

Next Up
TCU will travel to College Station to take on No. 2 Texas A&M on Oct. 26.
