FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU equestrian program announced the signing of Jayme Omand Wednesday afternoon.

“I’m so excited to have Jayme joining the team,” said Hunt Seat head coach Logan Fiorentino. “She is everything we look for in a student-athlete.  She brings a great academic skill set along with a strong Equitation background.  She has a great attitude and approach to the sport and I look forward to working with her in the fall.”

Omand will don the Purple and White next season after claiming the NorCal Junior 3'6" Medal Finals Championship. A USEF Talent Search Medal Finalist, Omand recently finished ninth overall at the prestigious WCE Medal Finals.

The California native earned third-place honors at the Pickwick Medal Finals, while also garnering NorCal Year End Equitation 15-17 Championship accolades. She has also excelled during the 2013 season in PCHA, earning multiple championships, including the Year End 15-17 Region 2 Championship, the “A” Division Reserve Championship and Year End Children’s Jumpers Championship.

The USHJA Zone 10 Year End Equitation 15-17 Reserve Champion was recently crowned the NorCal Year End Children’s Jumpers 15-17 Reserve Champion. In all, Omand, who is trained by Kelly Van Vleck and won the CWD Concours D’Equitation Championship in 2012, has qualified and competed at the CPHA Jr. Finals, WCE Finals, NorCal Medal Final and CPHA Foundation Final.

She will graduate in May from Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento.
