No. 33 TCU Slips to Fourth After Round Two of "Mo"Morial

Feb. 28, 2005

BRYAN, Texas - The No. 33 ranked Horned Frogs slipped a few spots in the afternoon half of day one out at the Texas A&M "Mo"Morial Invitational at Traditions Golf Club. Sophomore Elin Emanuelsson fell four spots to own part of an eight-way tie for 11th to lead the Frogs.

Emanuelsson fired a second-round 80 to total a 13-over par opening day. The "Mo"Morial Invitational spans only two days, completing the first 36 holes Monday and closing out with the final round on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, Emanuelsson had finished out the first round in seventh place; her second round saw a steady par or one-over average for the sophomore.

Sophomore Camille Blackerby filed one more stroke than Emanuelsson, carding an 81 in the matinee attempt as a follow-up to her morning show of 77. A triple-bogey on her fourth hole hurt her, but a birdie three holes later lightened the load slightly. She will enter the final round tied for 19th and a 14-over par score.

Sophomore Catherine Matranga had a tough first round, as she logged a nine-over-par 81. Despite seven bogied holes in the second round, Matranga stayed in the top-five hunt with a birdie; she will enter the final round tied for 26th, but only four strokes away from fifth place with a 14-over.

Sophomore Stacey Bieber also churned out a 10-over par 82 after round one. She improved by a single stroke to total 163, entering tomorrow's final tied for 43rd and a 19-over par score.
