Nuutinen Posts Top-10 Finish at LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Sanna Nuutinen tied for eighth individually as TCU finished 13th after Saturday's final day of the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.
With a Sunday forecast of rain in Baton Rouge, the tournament was shortened to two days with 36 holes played Saturday.
Nuutinen was TCU's top finisher for the fifth time in eight tournaments. The senior from Helsinki, Finland, recorded her second top-10 result of the season and 10th of her career.
Nuutinen totaled eight birdies in shooting par over her 36 holes on Saturday. She had a final-round 71 after carding a second-round 73. Nuutinen closed with birdies on two of her final three holes en route to a team-best five second-round birdies. Nuutinen began her final round with a birdie on her opening hole.
Nuutinen finished with a 5-over-par 221.
The Horned Frogs' second-round 312 was an 11-stroke improvement from Friday's 323. TCU then lowered its score 15 shots to 297, the tournament's sixth-best total, in the final round.
Maria Maymon posted a season-low 72 in the final round. The Huixquilucan, Mexico, native birdied her first hole and totaled three birdies in the round.
Alexandra Bonetti contributed a final-round 76. She recorded a birdie on her opening hole and shot par on 13 others.
Chaney Uhles recorded a 77 and 78, respectively, on Saturday. The Fort Worth native posted back-to-back birdies to close the front nine in second-round play. The second of her two third-round birdies came on her final hole.
April McCoy birdied two of her opening three holes to begin the second round. She added a pair of birdies in the final round.
Fifth-ranked Arkansas captured the team title with an 18-over 882, eight shots ahead of No. 16 UCF. The Razorbacks' Gaby Lopez took medalist honors with a 3-under 213.
TCU returns to action April 4 when it begins play at the SMU Invitational in Dallas.
