Horned Frogs Tie for 11th at PING/ASU Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Sanna Nuutinen's 72 keyed final-round play for TCU as the Horned Frogs finished in a tie for 11th at the PING/ASU Invitational.
TCU's 303 Sunday gave it a season-best final score of 880, its lowest since an 879 at last year's PING/ASU Invitational.
Eleven of the 17 schools in the PING/ASU Invitational were ranked in the top 25. The No. 53 Horned Frogs tied No. 9 Washington for 11th and finished ahead of four schools ranked in the top 50.
No. 3 Alabama finished with a 19-under 845 to capture the team title by nine strokes over No. 2 Duke.
Nuutinen recorded two birdies and shot par on 14 holes en route to a tie for 22nd individually.
Alexandra Bonetti had a final-round 75 and was TCU's top finisher, tying for 17th with a 1 under and career-low 54-hole score of 215. It was the fourth top-20 finish in the last five tournaments for the sophomore from Paris, France.
TCU freshman Maria Maymon birdied her opening and closing holes as part of a team-best four birdies on the day in recording a 75.
With a 9-under 207, Alabama's Emma Talley took medalist honors by two strokes over UCLA's Erynne Lee and UC Davis' Demi Runas.
TCU returns to action Friday when it begins play at the Big 12 Championships in Rhodes, Iowa.
