TCU in Contention at NCAA Central Regional

NORMAN, Okla. -- The TCU women's golf team shot a 303 and is in 11th place after Friday's second round of the NCAA Central Regional.
The top-eight teams after Saturday's final round will advance to the NCAA Championships May 21-24 in Athens, Ga. The Horned Frogs' 36-hole score of 593 is just two strokes behind No. 21 Texas Tech, No. 16 UC Davis and Mississippi State who are tied for eighth at 591.
Kortnie Maxoutopoulis led TCU Friday with a 73. She recorded two birdies and is tied for 39th individually with a 149.
April McCoy birdied two of her opening four holes and totaled a team-best four birdies overall en route to a 74 for TCU. The sophomore from Carrollton, Texas, is at 146 and the top Horned Frog in the individual standings with her tie for 16th.
Alexandra Bonetti added a 77 for TCU and is tied for 30th at 148.
Host and No. 4 Oklahoma has a 7-under 569 and is the team leader with a six-stroke advantage over No. 3 Duke.
The Sooners' Emily Collins sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 137, one shot ahead of Mississippi State's Ally McDonald.
