WOLCOTT, Colo. -- TCU senior Sanna Nuutinen carded an eagle en route to a 72 to lead TCU into second place after Monday's opening round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge.

Nuutinen's second career eagle came on the par 5, 491-yard second hole. She followed her eagle with the first of her team-best four birdies on the day, including three on the front nine. The Helsinki, Finland, native is just one stroke off the lead shared by a trio of golfers from Pepperdine.

TCU's 13-over-par 301 has it 12 strokes behind the Waves for the team lead.

Kortnie Maxoutopoulis and freshman Alex White, making her TCU debut, added 76s for the Horned Frogs and are tied for 14th individually.

Chaney Uhles, also in her first TCU appearance, birdied two of her final three holes en route to a 77. The Fort Worth native is in her first season of competition at TCU after transferring from Central Oklahoma.

April McCoy recorded a pair of birdies in posting a 78 for the Horned Frogs.

TCU's second-round tee times begin at 12:15 p.m. CDT. Live scoring is available at www.Golfstat.com.
