Sept. 26, 2017
VAIL, Colo. -- Emmy Martin carded an even-par 72 and is tied for 11th individually as the TCU women’s golf team completed second-round play Tuesday at the Golfweek Conference Challenge.
Martin birdied her opening and final holes while shooting par on 14 holes. Her 2-over-par 146 through 36 holes is eight strokes off the pace set by leader Haley Moore of Arizona.
TCU freshman Grace Do had a pair of birdies and recorded par on 13 holes en route to a 73, a six-stroke improvement over Monday's opening round.
Annika Clark also had two birdies for TCU in contributing a 76.
Brooke McDougald totaled a team-best three birdies, over her final eight holes, for TCU.
Tiffany Breitenwischer began her day with a birdie and added a second one in the opening eight holes.
TCU shot a 300, improving its score by four shots, and is in 14th place. The Horned Frogs are just five strokes out of eighth place.
"We have to do a better job around the greens and committing to our wedge game," TCU head women's golf coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "We are making it harder than it is. We are not playing our style of game and need to get the job done on the course."
The Horned Frogs have a 10 a.m. CDT shotgun start for Wednesday's final round. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
