NORMAN, Okla. -- TCU freshman Alex White carded a career best even-par 70 and is tied for third individually to lead TCU into eighth place after Saturday's opening round of the Schooner Fall Classic.

A Fort Worth native, White birdied two of her final three holes en route to three birdies on the day. She has now lowered her score in five consecutive rounds over the last three tournaments.

White is just three strokes off the pace set by Oklahoma State's Jayde Panos, who carded a 67.

The Horned Frogs' 301 has them eight shots behind the 293 by leaders Oklahoma State and Arizona State.

TCU's Kortnie Maxoutopoulis had a 73 and is tied for 13th. The junior from Pleasanton, Calif., totaled a team-best four birdies, including three over the final four holes on the front nine.

Sanna Nuutinen contributed a 78 for TCU. The Horned Frogs' lone senior shot par over seven consecutive holes on the front nine.

Chaney Uhles had two birdies on the back nine for TCU, while April McCoy birdied her first four holes and six of the first seven.
