Brooke Tull climbs into 3rd place at NMSU Invitational

Las Cruces - Junior Brooke Tull fired an even-par 72 Tuesday to move into a tie for third place after the second round of the New Mexico State Price's Give Em Five Intercollegiate. As a team, the Frogs shot a 306 Tuesday for a 36-hole total of 622, placing them 12th as they enter Wednesday's final round. Host New Mexico State leads the 20-team field with a 36-hole score of 596, five shots ahead of Baylor's team total of 601.

Tull has a 36-hole score of 147, which is four shots behind individual leader Alena Sharp of New Mexico State's total of 143. Sharp, who shot a three-under 69 on Tuesday, leads her teammate, Kelly Cavanaugh by three shots. Tull is tied with two others for third place.

Sophomore D'Rae Ward fired a second round score of 76 for a two-day total of 157, which puts her in a tie for 41st. Senior Shannon Barr, who shot a 79 Tuesday, is two shots behind Ward with a 36-hole total of 159, placing her in a tie for 51st.

After shooting a 79, freshman Traci Robison is tied for 62nd with a 36-hole score of 161. Sophomore Meredith Easley is in 74th place after shooting an 83 for a 36-hole score of 163.

The final round of the 54-hole tournament will be held Wednesday, October 9. The tournament is being held at the New Mexico State Golf Course in Las Cruces.
