TCU in 2nd Place in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Led by even-par 72s from Greta Bruner and Emmy Martin, the TCU women's golf team is in second place after Sunday's opening round of the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational.

TCU shot a 2-over-par 290 and is nine strokes behind leader Arkansas, who posted a 7-under 281.

Bruner, making her TCU debut, carded an eagle on the par 5, 492-yard fifth hole at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club. The sophomore from The Woodlands, Texas, also had a pair of birdies.

Martin recorded three birdies.

Bruner and Martin are tied for ninth individually, six shots behind leader Connie Jaffrey of Kansas State.

Annika Clark and Grace Do are tied for 16th with 73s. Clark shot par on her opening eight holes and a total of 15 overall. She had one birdie. Do totaled a team-best four birdies, all in her opening 11 holes.

Brooke McDougald recorded three birdies, including two of her opening four holes.

Yeji Shin, competing as an individual in her first tournament as a Horned Frog, added two birdies.
