Greenville, SC - The TCU women's golf team fired an 18-hole score of 307 Friday, placing them in a three-way tie for eighth after the first round of the Furman Lady Paladin Invitational. The Frogs trail North Carolina and Furman, who are tied for first with a score of 295.

The Frogs were led by junior Brooke Tull, who is tied for 12th after shooting a first round 74. North Carolina's Ashley Prange grabbed the early lead, after firing an opening round 70. Senior Shannon Barr is tied for 21st with a round of 75. Sophomore D'Rae Ward and freshman Stephanie Godare are tied for 50th after they shot a 79. Freshman Traci Robison is in 78th place, after she shot an 84.

The 16-team field includes Conference USA opponents Tulane, Louisville and Memphis. Tulane is in third with a score of 296, Louisville is tied for fifth with a score of 303, while Memphis is tied for 14th with a score of 313.

The 54-hole tournament, held at the Furman University Golf Course, will continue with single rounds on Saturday and Sunday.
