TCU Opens Play in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO -- Kortnie Maxoutopoulis carded a 1-under-par 71 to lead the No. 47 TCU women's golf team into a tie for eighth after Sunday's opening round of the Alamo Invitational.
The Horned Frogs' 1-over 289, TCU's second-best round of the fall, is just 11 strokes behind fifth-ranked and leader Oklahoma's 278. The 15-team field features 10 of the nation's top-50 programs.
Maxoutopoulis birdied her opening two holes and finished with three birdies on the day. The junior from Pleasanton, Calif., is tied for 18th nationally. The 71 equaled her low round for the fall.
Bonetti recorded a pair of birdies on both the front nine and back nine. White, a freshman from Fort Worth, had three birdies on the front nine en route to a team-best five on the day.
Sanna Nuutinen, the lone senior in TCU's lineup, contributed a 74.
Louisville's Laura Restrepo and Florida's Sarah Schober are tied for the individual lead at 5-under 67, four strokes ahead of Maxoutopoulis.
