TCU Finishes Seventh at Alamo Invitational

SAN ANTONIO -- Kortnie Maxoutopoulis shot a final-round 71 Tuesday to lead the 47th-ranked TCU women's golf team to a seventh-place finish at the Alamo Invitational.
The tournament, which featured 10 of the nation's top-50 programs, concluded the fall season for the Horned Frogs. TCU posted its second top-10 result in five events.
Maxoutopoulis birdied her opening two holes and two of the final four. She finished with five birdies on the day.
Sanna Nuutinen was TCU's top finisher as she tied for 22nd individually with an even-par 216. One day after setting a school record with a 64, Nuutinen posted five birdies on her opening 11 holes Tuesday.
TCU freshman and Fort Worth native Alex White tied for 24th with a 1-over 217. In posting her second straight top-25 finish, White carded a final-round 72. She had three birdies Tuesday.
Alexandra Bonetti recorded her second-straight 73 to finish in a tie for 29th at 218.
Maria Maymon's 76 included birdies on two of her final three holes.
TCU freshman Alex Sborov, competing as an individual, had three birdies in a five-hole stretch to post a 75, her best round of the tournament.
No. 5 Oklahoma won the team title with a 24-under 840, eight strokes ahead of No. 25 LSU. The Tigers' Lindsay Gahm took medalist honors with an 11-under 205.
TCU will return to action when it opens the spring season on Feb. 16 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.
