Brooke Tull in 10th place after first round of the Auburn Derby

TCU junior Brooke Tull fired an even-par 72 Friday, placing her in a tie for 10th after the first round of the Auburn Derby. As a team, the Frogs shot a 310 in the opening round to end the day in 12th place.
The tournament field includes each of the nation's top five women's collegiate golf teams, and seven of the country's top 10. Tennessee, ranked 19th, leads the tournament with a first round score of 289, while the host Auburn Tigers are two strokes back with a score of 291.
Tull, who won the Furman Lady Paladin tournament last week, shot a 35-37 for the even-par round of 72. She was one of 13 golfers to shoot par or better. Summer Sirmons (Georgia) and Diana Ramage (Duke) hold the early lead with a three-under 69.
Freshman Stephanie Godare is tied for 33rd after shooting a four-over par 76. A pair of TCU golfers, senior Shannon Barr and freshman Traci Robison are tied for 59th after they fired an 80 on Friday. Sophomore D'Rae Ward is in 71st place after she opened the 54-hole tournament with an 84.
The tournament will continue on Saturday and Sunday with the final two rounds.
