A couple of Fridays ago, we had an awesome team building experience. We did some cool activities and became closer as a team. My absolute favorite activity, ever, was where we had buckets tied around our waists and placed on our lower backs. We had to work together to get five different-sized balls into a bucket at the end. It was kind of a challenge at the beginning but, once we got our system down, it was so fun. In the past four years, this activity was definitely my favorite! That day, we also went rock climbing on the wall in the Rec Center. Sounds easy enough, right? But there was a trick to it... Our teammates were belaying us while we were BLINDFOLDED. Yeah, we are definitely more trusting in each other after that. It was scary, but it was so fun at the same time.
The next day (Saturday for you keeping track), we went to Berry Good Buys to help sort, hang and mark items to be sold at the store. All of the money from the items sold goes to Safe Haven of Tarrant County, an organization that helps those who experience domestic violence. It was really a great experience and I'm glad we got to help them out...
This past Saturday we went to the Tarrant Area Food Bank to help sort cans. We even had a little competition to see who could pack the most boxes in our allotted amount of time. I must say my team did a fantastic job... Way to go Kel (Montigel), Allyson (Ferguson), Christina (Schams), and Val (Derrey)! I think we made it up to 15 boxes. Regardless of the competition, we helped out a wonderful cause who is always in need of help.
Time has been flying and it's almost February, meaning it's almost tournament time again! I know once tournaments start, things will fly by even faster... Have a great week TCU fans...

The new TCU bookstore has been a great addition to the corner of Berry and University. It's quite beautiful, has escalators, a cafe and plenty of TCU gear. Another wonderful addition is the new residential halls added to our campus. Val (Derrey) and Melissa (Loh) just moved into the new halls so hopefully we'll get an update about their rooms in posts to come. Frog Fountain has also made its return to the campus. It's been cleaned and a few changes have been made. It's so good to have a classic TCU landmark back on campus.
As for golf, we start qualifying soon for the Regional Challenge in beautiful Palos Verdes, California... I'll be sure to keep y'all updated when we reach California.
