FORT WORTH, Texas -- The No. 41 TCU women's golf team opens its spring season Sunday at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

The Horned Frogs are competing in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic for the ninth time in 10 seasons. TCU was fourth at last year's event with Sanna Nuutinen finishing eighth after three consecutive rounds of 73. Alexandra Bonetti tied for 12th, a then career-best result for the Paris, France, native.

This year's Lady Puerto Rico Classic will be held on the par 72, 5,826-yard Rio Mar Country Club River Course. Sunday's first round will begin with a 6 a.m. (CST) shotgun start. Live scoring is available at www.Golfstat.com.

The three-day event features six of the top-25 teams in the nation: No. 6 Alabama, No. 8 Arkansas, No. 18 North Carolina State, No. 19 Northwestern, No. 22 Iowa State and No. 23 Kent State. Auburn, Augusta State, Georgia, Michigan, Missouri, Purdue, Tennessee and Texas Tech complete the field.

TCU's lineup includes Nuutinen, Bonetti, Kortnie Maxoutopoulis, Maria Maymon and Chaney Uhles.

Nuutinen, who carded a TCU-record 64 at the Alamo Invitational in TCU's final fall tournament, is the lone senior for the Horned Frogs. The Helsinki, Finland, native has a team-best 73.1 stroke average this season. Her eighth-place result at last year's Lady Puerto Rico Classic was one of her seven career top-10 finishes.

Bonetti is second on the Horned Frogs with a 74.7 stroke average, while Maxoutopoulis is third at 74.8.

TCU closed its fall campaign with two top-10 finishes in five tournaments, including a third-place result at the Golfweek Conference Challenge. Three different golfers were the top finisher in the five fall events.
