FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's golf program returns to action Friday when it begins play at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La.

The Horned Frogs are in the LSU Tiger Golf Classic for a sixth consecutive spring. TCU won the event the first two years it was played in 1982 and 1983. The Horned Frogs were fourth last season as Alexandra Bonetti posted a career best sixth-place finish, while Sanna Nuutinen tied for seventh.

The three day, 54-hole LSU Tiger Golf Classic will be held at the par 72, 6,186-yard University Club course. Live scoring is available at

In addition to TCU and host LSU, this year's field includes Arkansas, Baylor, Denver, Kentucky, Louisiana-Monroe, Missouri, Notre Dame, Purdue, SMU, Tulane, UCF, UNC Wilmington and UTSA.

Four of TCU's five players this weekend were in last year's LSU Tiger Golf Classic. Joining Bonetti and Nuutinen in returning to Baton Rouge are Maria Maymon and April McCoy. Completing TCU's lineup is Chaney Uhles.

Nuutinen, ranked 94th nationally by Golfweek, has a team best and career-low 73.5 stroke average. She joins Kortnie Maxoutopoulis as the only Horned Frogs to play in all seven tournaments this season.

TCU's lone senior, Nuutinen has back-to-back top-20 finishes and a total of four in seven tournaments this season. She has 17 career top-20 results, including nine in the top 10.

In last week's Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawai'i, Nuutinen carded her second eagle of the season and third of her career.

Bonetti is in her third LSU Tiger Golf Classic. She has a 76.4 stroke average in three tournaments this season.

Maymon had a career-best tie for 34th at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawai'I. The sophomore from Huixquilucan, Mexico, has a 76.7 season mark.

McCoy, third on TCU with five tournaments played, posted a season best 26th-place finish at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.

Uhles, a Fort Worth native, will be in her fourth tournament.

TCU, which has made 18 consecutive postseason appearances, has three top-10 finishes in seven events this season.
