Scholar Athletes of the Month Announced

TCU has announced that women's golfer Sanna Nuutinen and track and field student-athlete Cameron Tabor have been named TCU Scholar Athletes of the Month for March.

Nuutinen tied for eighth individually as TCU finished 13th at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.  The senior was TCU's top finisher for the fifth time in eight tournaments this season. The Finland native recorded her second top-10 result of the season and 10th of her career at the Classic. Nuutinen helped TCU place fourth at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational with an eagle in the second-round. The eagle was the second this season and the third of her career.

Nuutinen is a sports psychology major.

Tabor set a new school record in the men's hammer throw at 187-06, breaking his old record of 186-01 on day one of the TCU Invitational. On day two, he placed second in shot put with a throw of 55-02.75. The senior started the month of March by finishing second in the weight throw and placing ninth in shot put at the NCAA Indoor National Championship. Tabor also set another new school records in the discus (181-00) and hammer throw (187-6) at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at the University of Texas.

Tabor is majoring in sociology.
