TCU sophomore Camille Blackerby and Memphis freshman Ian Rochester were named the Conference USA Golfers of the Week for tournament play through April 12. Rochester earned medalist honors at Auburn's Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate, shooting a personal best 65 in the first round. Blackerby led the Horned Frogs to their first team title since 2003 by tying for second at the Lady Boilermaker Invitational.
Women's Golfer of the Week
Camille Blackerby - TCU (Sophomore, Breckenridge, Texas)
Blackerby led the Horned Frogs to a co-championship at the Lady Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind., over the weekend. Blackerby carded her lowest three-round total with a 76-73-71=220 to place second individually and tie her best career finish. TCU tied with No. 25 Michigan for the title and defeated four ranked teams in the 13-team field. Blackerby also earned C-USA Golfer of the Month honors in February.
Men's Golfer of the Week
Ian Rochester - Memphis (Freshman, Cordova, Tenn.)
Rochester became the fourth different Tiger to win medallist honors this season with this win at the Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate, hosted by Auburn. Rochester shot a personal best 65 (improving his previous best by six strokes) in the first round. He finished with a five-under 211 (65-72-74) to edge out Auburn All-American Lee Williams by one stroke after leading the tournament wire-to-wire. The 65 was also the second-lowest round in school history as he led Memphis to a runner-up finish in the 12-team field.
