TCU Women's Golfers Gear Up for Conference Championship

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU heads to Memphis for the 2005 Conference USA Women's Golf Championship April 18-20. The No. 28 Horned Frogs look to win their second C-USA championship in four years as TCU ends its era in the league. Sophomore Camille Blackerby, ranked 48th individually in the latest Golfweek polls, leads the Frogs in the tournament.

Memphis hosts the tournament at Germantown Country Club, on a par-72, 6,155-yard course. The eight team field consists of returning C-USA champions Tulane - ranked 13th in the nation - as well as No. 52 East Carolina, No. 60 Louisville, Cincinnati, Memphis, Southern Miss, UAB and USF.

Senior D'Rae Ward and sophomores Camille Blackerby, Elin Emanuelsson and Catherine Matranga represent the Frogs.

Last year, the Tulane Green Wave won by a score of 941 to the runners-up Horned Frogs' 959. Tulane's Liliana Alvarez shot a final round 72 to clinch the medalist honors with a total score of 226. The Frogs' then-senior Brooke Tull placed highest for the team at third place and a 229 score. Blackerby shot a 238 for a tie for seventh, Matranga shot a 243 for 12th, Emanuelsson shot a 255 for 29th, and Bieber shot a 257 for a tie for 30th.
