FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU women's golfer Kelly McGovern has been announced as a first-team selection to the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Women's At-Large Team.

The district covers nine states and includes candidates from 14 sports.

As a first-team member, McGovern now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team honorees will be selected later this month.

McGovern, who will graduate Saturday with a 4.0 grade-point average, is a finance major from The Woodlands, Texas. She is headed to the University of Pennsylvania Law School in the fall.

McGovern closed her TCU career with a 1-under-par 71, including a birdie on her final hole, at the NCAA Regional in Lubbock this week. Her 74.6 stroke average ranks first in TCU history among those to play at least three years in the program. She posted two of the top-11 season scoring marks.

McGovern totaled 12 career top-20 finishes, including four in the top 10. She has five career sub-70 rounds with four eagles and a hole in one. She played in all but one tournament in her three-year TCU career and was a two-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection and a three-time member of the WGCA All-America Scholar Team.
