FLOWER MOUND, Texas -- TCU women’s golfer Annika Clark earned a spot in the 2017 U.S. Women's Amateur at a Monday qualifier in Flower Mound, Texas.

Clark tied for first with a 3-under-par 69 at the Bridlewood Golf Club. The rising junior and Highlands, Texas, native recorded consecutive birdies on holes 5 and 6. She also birdied 16 and 18.

It's the second-straight year Clark has qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur.

"I am really honored to have qualified with such a competitive field," Clark said. "Having seven people shoot 3 under to get in is something I've never seen before.

"I was really lucky to have my dad (Jody Clark) as my caddy and to have a few supporters come out to watch. I felt confident all day. My dad and I worked well together, which led to some great pars and birdies.

"I'll now be working all summer to get even better for San Diego."

The 2017 U.S. Women's Amateur will be held Aug. 7-13 in San Diego, Calif.

Clark's 74.6 career stroke average ranks No. 1 in TCU history for players who completed two years in the program.
