Beeler Records Runner-Up Finish In Illinois

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. -- Brooke Beeler tied for second individually to lead the 26th-ranked TCU women's golf team to a fourth-place finish Tuesday at the Windy City Collegiate Classic.
Playing in her home state, Beeler recorded a runner-up finish at the tournament for the second time in three years. The junior from Butler, Ill., was also second at the 2008 event as a freshman.
Beeler's final round 1-over-par 72 included four birdies. She finished two shots behind medalist Numa Gulyanamitta of Purdue.
TCU's 5-over 289 was the tournament's low score over the final round.
Seventh-ranked Purdue captured the team championship with an 876, seven strokes ahead of Iowa State.
TCU junior Rachel Raastad carded TCU's best round Tuesday with a 2-under 69. The Asker, Norway, native recorded an eagle on her opening hole before adding three birdies to finish in a tie for 19th.
Melissa Loh had four birdie en route to a 72. Her tie for 15th gave TCU three golfers in the top 20 individually.
TCU freshman Sanna Nuutinen had a final-round 76 and tied for 30th.
Three of TCU's four golfers recorded their best rounds of the tourney over Tuesday's 18 holes.
TCU returns to action Friday at the Mercedes Benz Classic in Knoxville, Tenn.
