TCU Women's Golf in 5th after first-round 304

The TCU women's golf team opened the 2001 Furman Lady Paladin golf tournament with a first score of 304, placing them in fifth after the opening round. Auburn and Wake Forest are tied for the tournament lead with a total of 299. Brooke Tull is tied for sixth after firing an 18-hole score of 75.
Tull got off to a solid start, firing a two-under (34) total on the front nine. She shot a five-over (41) on the back nine for a total of 75. She enters round two in sixth place, three shots behind tournament leaders Meredith Duncan (LSU) and Nuria Clau (Wake Forest).
Lori Sutherland and Shannon Barr are tied for 16th, one shot back of Tull. Both Sutherland and Barr shot identical 39-37 scores for a four-over total of 76. D'Rae Ward is tied for 25th with a first-round score of 77, while Jennifer Patterson is tied for 41st with a 78.
The women will continue the 54-hole tournament with a single-round on Saturday, October 28. The tournament will conclude on Sunday, October 29 with the final 18 holes.
