FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's golf program has announced the signing of Emmy Martin to a National Letter of Intent.

A native of Odessa, Fla., Martin is ranked 45th nationally by Golfweek and 13th in the Class of 2014. She is also 27th in the Polo Golf Rankings, created by the American Junior Golf Association to identify and rank the top junior players who have competed in the premier junior tournaments in the United States.

Martin finished eighth at the 2013 AJGA Girls' Championship. In regional and national events, she has a total of 12 top-10 finishes, including nine in the top five and two wins.

"Signing Emmy is a huge statement for our women's golf program," TCU head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "She is such a tremendously talented athlete on and off the golf course.

"Emmy is one of the best junior golfers in the country and will help take our program to the next level. She is dedicated and passionate about winning and will bring that enthusiasm to TCU. She competes with a fire to win while always maintaining such class and character!"

Martin was named the Golfweek Player of the Week on Feb. 25, 2013, when she carded a final round 3-under 69, the tournament's only sub-par round, for a seven-stroke victory at the 2013 Florida Junior Tour Championship in Tallahassee. She led after the first round by two strokes before pulling away for her first FJT victory. She has also posted a pair of second-place finishes at FJT events.

The 2013 Tampa Tribune Girls Golfer of the Year, Martin is a three-time district and regional champion while being a five-time state qualifier. Martin has helped lead Academy of the Holy Names to three straight District 17-2A titles.

Martin finished eighth out of 94 individuals at the Florida 2A State Championships in October. She was 15th the previous season.

Martin won the last three individual championships at the Mustang Invitational at Seminole Lake Country Club. Before the tournament was shortened by weather, she was 4-under par on her 13 holes in leading Academy of the Holy Names to the team title. Martin's performance enabled her to capture Bright House Sports Network Athlete of the Week honors.

Martin won the 2013 Callaway Junior World Championship qualifier and was fourth at the North and South Championship at Pinehurst. She also took medalist honors at the 2012 AJGA Preseason at Innisbrook.

In August, Martin became only the second amateur this year to make the cut in the Symetra Tour IOA Golf Classic at Innisbrook.
