-- TCU media relations student intern Avery Seale recently sat down for a visit with women's golfer Sanna Nuutinen
What is the story behind your nickname Barbie?
"The first tournament we played at, there was a banquet and we were running to the banquet with little time to change. I asked my teammate, `Will there be any boys at the banquet?' She said no, so I said, `Okay I won't wear makeup then.' And that's how it started."
How did it feel to be named the MWC Freshman of the Year last year?
"It was a surprise, but it felt great. I still have the plaque in my dorm room."
How far would you like to see your game go?
"My ultimate goal is to play in the Olympic games."
What made you start playing?
"My family played, at first they made me play. I wanted to do equestrian but they told me I couldn't ride unless I played golf. That's when it started, but I enjoyed competing. I'm a very competitive person."
What are your favorite traditions you have as a team?
"I like the nicknames we give to each other on the team."
What is it like working with girls from all over the world?
"I've always been around international people because of golf and international tournaments, so it's natural to me. It's always interesting to get to see the different cultures."
Who would you love to play a round with and where?
"Tiger Woods at Augusta."
What's your favorite food?
"I love every kind of food. There's nothing I can't eat."
"Peaceful Barrier. It inspired me a lot with my game."
"My biggest fear would be any disease that would take away my ability to play sports."
What's the best advice you've ever received?
"Play the game because you love it."
