TCU Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week

Jan. 24, 2017

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU’s Cameron Norrie and Brenley Goertzen have been named TCU’s Muscle Milk Athletes of the Week after their stellar performance on the tennis court and track this past weekend.

Norrie, a New Zealand native, had an impressive weekend as he wrapped-up an undefeated start to the season and notched another victory over a ranked opponent by toppling No. 46 Or Ram-Harel, 6-3, 6-1 on court one to clinch the victory for the Frogs.

Head Coach David Roditi said, “The win at No. 2 doubles set the tone for the day. Cameron Norrie showed his level by beating a very tough player easily.” TCU is nationally ranked at No. 7 and is headed home for the season opener on Jan. 28-29 with the ITA kick-off weekend.

Goertzen, a native of Woodbury, Minn., broke the school record in the 3,000-meter race as she won the event with a time of 9:27.83 in her first indoor race of the season.

Goertzen, Big 12 bronze medalist for the cross country season, will lead the charge to Albuquerque, N.M., on Saturday, Jan. 28 for the New Mexico Invitational, the next stop for TCU track & field.
