FORT WORTH -- A night to remember for Emma Heckendorn helped TCU pick up a 2-1 win over Ball State Friday night at Garvey-Rosenthal. She tallied a goal and an assist en route to becoming TCU's all-time career assist leader, to help the Horned Frogs hold off a pesky Cardinals' squad.

The Rundown
TCU struck for a pair of goals in the first 20 minutes of the game and withstood a ferocious second half push from Ball State to record the win. Katie Lund made a trio of saves in the match's final 12 minutes to preserve the win.

The Frogs opened the scoring in the 10th minute on a tally from Heckendorn. Allison Ganter worked the ball to an open Kayla Hill. She found Heckendorn with some room to move and her shot to the far post was on target for a 1-0 lead.

Just over 10 minutes later, Heckendorn returned the favor to Ganter with a cross to the back post for an easy tap-in and a 2-0 lead.

Ball State cashed in on a broken play in the 25th minute to cut the lead in half. Evie Stepaniak got the ball through a crowd to an open Amanda Shaw for the goal.

The Cardinals pushed hard in the second half, outshooting TCU 7-3, but all three shots that made their way on goal landed safely in the arms of Lund.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell On the preparations for this game:
"It's the same. Obviously we worked on certain things, but coming into the game, we had to figure out what we needed to do to win the game. After we lost to Colorado, we found a way to win at Northern Colorado and to get a win tonight."

On the game:
"I think Ball State tried to make it hard, but I think we made it hard on ourselves. Give them credit for making it hard on us, but I think after we scored the first two goals of the game we hit the easy button a little bit."
