WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Jessi Moore continued her offensive prowess this season as she connected for her fourth goal of the season in a 2-1 loss to the William & Mary Tribe at the Tribe Nike Invite. The Frogs and the Tribe battled to a 0-0 tie at the halfway point, but the Tribe connected five minutes into the second half to take the lead they would hold for good. The game was a defensive battle as there were only 14 total shots taken in the game.

William & Mary dominated the first half of play, but TCU was able to withstand the pressure with some outstanding goalkeeping from Ashley Pierret. The Tribe outshot TCU 6-1 in the first half as the teams battled it out in the high winds and occasional sprinkle of rain. Pierret made two stops in the half to keep the game scoreless.

In the second half, the Tribe came out shooting and finally found the back of the net in the 51st minute. Lydia Sturgis put the Tribe up 1-0 as she shot it high into the top right corner of the net. Twelve minutes later the score was 2-0 as Katie Hogwood beat Pierret one on one with her third goal of the season.

TCU cut the lead in half eight minutes later when Jessi Moore connected for the Frogs. Moore took the shot from 15 yards out, blasting it past Kellie Fenton. Moore is the first person to score against Fenton this season as she had posted shutouts in her last two contests. Her shutout streak ended at 250:21.

TCU was unable to muster any more defense as they fell for the fourth time this season.

The Frogs return to action on Sunday morning as they wrap up tournament play against George Mason. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m. For TCU the match marks their final non-conference game of the month as they get ready to kick off the conference portion of their schedule next weekend.
