Chicago, Ill. - The Horned Frogs ran into a hot DePaul team on Sunday, as the Blue Demons put up two goals in the second half to defeat the Frogs in the final match of their Conference USA opening road trip. The Frogs dodged multiple bullets in the first half, playing to a 0-0 tie going into the half, but just two minutes into the second half, DePaul knocked in the first goal of the match.

DePaul peppered the TCU defense in the first half, outshooting the Frogs 9-1 in the first 45 minutes. TCU goalkeeper Jennifer Sims came up big for the Frogs, stopping all five shots that came her way. Ashley Fortune had a chance to give the Frogs a lead in the game, but Lindsey Deason was equal to the task, stopping the shot for her only save in the half.

Early in the second half, the Blue Demons persistence paid off as Lauren Spatch connected with the first goal of the game. She took a crossing feed from Julianne Sitch and blasted it toward the goal. Sims came up with the first save, but was unable to corral the rebound as Spatch put it in the back of the net.

The Frogs battled throughout the second half, piling up seven shots to DePaul's five, but the Blue Demons won where it counted making two of their shots count. Sitch sealed the game for the Blue Demons, when, with just over five minutes remaining in the game, she blasted a shot past Sims for the insurance goal DePaul needed and they held on for the victory.

In the game, Sims made six saves, while allowing both goals. Fortune led the team offensively, piling up three shots and the only two shots on goal. In a side note, TCU forward Kelly Potysman received a red card in the 73rd minute and will miss Friday's game due to NCAA rules following a red card.

The Frogs record falls to 3-4-1 with the loss and evens their C-USA record at 1-1-0. TCU will return home for a pair of conference matches this weekend. The Horned Frogs will face Marquette on Friday at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium beginning at 4:00. On Sunday, Saint Louis comes to town for a 1:00 start.
