A failed clearing attempt by a K-State defender in the 76th found its way into the back of the net for an own goal, helping TCU take a 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Garvey Rosenthal.

The Rundown
TCU set the tone for the game in the first minute of play as McKenzie Oliver raced in and fired off a strong shot that went just wide of the goal.

The Horned Frogs generated plenty of chances as it earned nine corner kicks alone in the first half. Ariana Owens had one of the best looks of the afternoon as she fired a shot from about 20 yards out that had to be knocked out of danger by the Wildcat goalkeeper.

In the second half, TCU again continued its time of possession dominance. The Frogs generated six more corners, but couldn't convert.

In the 76th minute, disaster struck for the Wildcats. Ryan Williams lobbed the ball into the attacking third. A K-State defender got her head on the ball only to see it float into the back of the goal for the only tally of the afternoon.

Defensively, TCU limited Kansas State to just three shots and didn't surrender a shot on goal or a corner kick.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
On the game:
"Two wins in conference play is always good. Fortunately we were able to get to that. Kansas State battled for 90 minutes and gave themselves a chance. I thought our kids were pretty resilient and created a lot of scoring opportunities."

On the numerous cornerkick opportunities:
"It's a credit to them on defending them and working hard. I think we need to be little bit more cut throat in front of goal to figure out a way to finish all these chances we are creating. We have to be better."
