FORT WORTH -- A goal in each period led TCU to a 2-0 victory over Oklahoma Friday night at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. Katie Lund made four saves en route to posting her sixth shutout of the season.

The Rundown
TCU fired shots early and often on the Sooner goalkeeper, but had a tough time getting one by McKinley Crone who made five first half saves. The Frogs peppered the Sooner defense with 13 shots total in the first half and had seven corner kicks.

The Frogs were finally able to break through in the 30th minute. McKenzie Oliver was rewarded for her hard work in the first half as she found Yazmeen Ryan in front of the net. Ryan fired a shot just under the crossbar for her third goal of the season.

In the second half, the Frogs wasted little time getting the all-important insurance goal. Emma Heckendorn came streaking down the middle of the field and found a wide-open Tara Smith. She dribbled in tight to the goal and fired a shot in off the keeper's hands for a 2-0 lead.

TCU had to weather a couple flurries from the Sooners in the middle part of the second half and the latter part of the match. Katie Lund made a trio of stops late in the match to preserve the shutout.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
On the game:
"We have been waiting for a little bit of a breakout from a goal-scoring standpoint. We keep on working on it and we were able to put a couple in the back of the net. I'm happy for Yazmeen (Ryan) and Tara (Smith) to get into the books against their home-state team.

"It was a total team effort from defending and not giving up a lot of chances; to attacking and creating a lot more chances and making the goalkeeper make saves. We were able to get people more minutes that haven't played a lot throughout conference play. It was good to get them some quality minutes."

On playing at home:
"It was a great environment tonight, a great crowd. The weather was perfect. I felt as though our kids could run all day. Obviously being at home is always a bonus."
