Chicago, Ill. - The TCU Horned Frogs women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to the DePaul Blue Demons on Sunday afternoon. DePaul scored once in the first half and tacked on two goals in the second to send the Frogs to their second straight loss of the weekend. With the loss the Frogs fell to 3-4 in the conference with three games remaining in a tight battle to get into the conference tournament. DePaul outshot the Frogs 13-9 in the contest.

In a defensive first half, the Blue Demons came away with the 1-0 lead on a booming shot by Kelly Lord that went just over the vertical leap of Frog's goalkeeper Lindsay White.

TCU had some early opportunities to jump on top, but the stifling defense of DePaul kept the Frogs from connecting their passes to the middle. Lindsey Deason came out to intercept numerous crossing feeds by Laura Greenberg and Jessi Moore, thwarting more scoring opportunities for the Frogs.

Jessi Moore had the early chance just minutes into the game as she had Deason out of the goal, but her shot drifted just wide and out of danger. A few minutes later, Greenberg found herself with a great chance after a Moore crossing feed, but couldn't get the shot off as she found herself at a bad angle.

The Frogs dodged a huge bullet as the Blue Demons scored, only to see it disallowed by an offsides call deep in their offensive zone. But they did connect in the 26th minute on Lord's shot. Deason played a free kick deep into Frog territory and following a deflection by a TCU defender, Lord just laid her foot into it and the ball went just over the reach of White into the back of the net.

In all, DePaul outshot the Frogs 9-2 in the first half.

TCU came out with some fire in the second half as they had early pressure on the Demons. Moore and Greenberg hooked up for a great chance to tie the game, but a diving save on a Greenberg shot ended the threat.

DePaul made it 2-0 in the middle of the second half on a goal by Julianne Sitch and put the game out of reach with just under 10 minutes to go. The Frogs earned a corner kick that was cleared out by DePaul. The clear hit a streaking Stefanie Foley who feed the ball to Margo Sackmaster. Sackmaster headed the ball toward the goal and White was unable to corral the shot and it trickled into the far corner for the 3-0 lead.

Moore had the only other real scoring opportunity late in the half to try and cut the deficit to 2-1, but Deason was there for the stop. Moore found herself with the ball at the top of the box and took the quick turn around shot that Deason dove to knock away.

The Frogs fall to 5-10 overall. They will be back in action on Friday at Garvey-Rosenthal as they host the UAB Blazers. Match time is set for 4:00 on Friday afternoon. On Sunday the USF Bulls come to town for a 1:00 match.
