May 4, 2016

FORT WORTH -- TCU women's soccer head coach Eric Bell has announced the addition of Kelsey Hunyadi-Coll to the soccer staff. She will serve as the program's Director of Soccer Operations.

"We are very happy to have Kelsey on board," remarked head coach Eric Bell. "I think she compliments our staff very well. She has a lot of college soccer experience and we are going to use that experience in a lot of different ways."

Hunyadi-Coll comes to TCU after serving a season as an assistant at Youngstown State. The Penguins won seven games in her lone season, the second most in a season in school history.

"The opportunity to work with this coaching staff is fantastic opportunity to grow in the sport of soccer. I'm looking forward to learning the inner workings of a Big 12 collegiate soccer program."

In her lone season at Youngstown State, she was responsible for recruiting, video scouting, game planning, player development, logistics of team travel, academic advising and helped organize the team's training sessions and pre-and-post technical work with the players.

Hunyadi-Coll's soccer background features coaching experience at the highest collegiate level and at the club level. She was also a respected player in one of the top collegiate soccer conferences in the country.

She spent the 2014 season at Kentucky where the Wildcats posted 16-7-1 record and won a pair of games in the NCAA Tournament. UK played in the Southeastern Conference Tournament title game and finished third in the conference during the regular season with an 8-3-0 record.

At UK, Hunyadi-Coll helped plan training sessions, on-campus recruiting, coordinated all aspects of team travel. She was also a member of the staff in the spring of 2012 as a volunteer assistant in her first collegiate coaching role.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, she was an assistant coach at Division III Capital in 2013 where she helped the program in all aspects. While in her hometown, she was also highly involved at the club level working with the Ohio Premier Soccer Club ECNL teams.

Hunyadi-Coll's collegiate playing career included stints at Kentucky and Louisville.

At UK, her on-field play earned her second-team All-SEC honors as a senior in 2011, as well as NSCAA all-region. For the Wildcats, she set the school record for season shot attempts (90) and career minutes played (6,228) while finishing second all-time with 38 points, 14 goals scored and 10 assists in a single year. In 2011, she scored four game-winning goals for UK and her 14 goals were just one shy of the school mark.

A three-time Academic All-SEC honoree, she guided the program to its first NCAA Tournament appearance and first winning conference campaign since 2006. In her two years with the program she tallied 22 goals and scored 57 points. At the conclusion of her career at UK, she was the recipient of the 2012 Character award.

Hunyadi-Coll began her college soccer career at Louisville where she spent two seasons with the Cardinals (2007-08). She was a two-time Academic All-BIG EAST selection. As a freshman she was a third-team All-Big East honoree for the Cardinals while being named to the Soccer Buzz Freshman All-Region squad. She was named Louisville's female Freshman of the Year.

She was a three-year participant in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) and was a two-time all-league honoree. While playing in the WPSL, her team competed in the playoffs all three years. Hunyadi-Coll earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Kentucky in 2012.
