Soccer Adds Another Signee
May 10, 2017
FORT WORTH -- TCU women's soccer head coach Eric Bell announced the addition of Tijana Djuricek, a native of Serbia. The addition of Djuricek along with the 13 athletes already signed brings TCU's 2017 signing class to 14.
"We are very excited to have Tijana join us," said Bell. "She is a very talented soccer player that will bring international playing experience to our program. A very skillful player, Tijana is very good on the ball under pressure. She's been a team captain which will bring leadership and a calming influence to the locker room. Tijana is a wonderful young lady that lights up a room when she walks in. We are very fortunate to have her as a part of our program."
Djuricek was 13 when she received her first invite to the Serbian National Team. She captained the U17 and U19 squads before an injury sidelined her. Djuricek returned to the national team against Romania after recovering from the injury. Her international travels with the National Team took her to Finland in April of 2014 where she was the youngest player on the field. She helped lead Serbia to a 1-0 win over Denmark. She most recently participated in the u19 EUFA Women's Qualifying event in Norway, leading her team to a 2-0 win over heavily favored Sweden.
She joined the Red Star club team, Serbia's top soccer club, when she was 15 years old. She was a member of the "A" team, during her tenure with the club. While with the team, they played in numerous league cup finals.
