2009 Women's Soccer Schedule

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU soccer program and Horned Frog Head Coach Dan Abdalla announced its fall 2009 schedule on Wednesday. The slate features eight home matches and contests with 14 teams that played in postseason competition.

"I'm excited at the balance of our schedule. It will offer in preparation for a Mountain West Conference Championship run. From styles to locations, this year should be great to build off our 2008 14-4-2 season," said Abdalla.

TCU's non-conference home slate is highlighted by matches against UTSA, Houston Baptist, Texas Tech and Stephen F. Austin, who all played in postseason play in 2008. The Purple and White will play a total of five non-conference matches at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.

On the road, TCU will open the month of August with a road-match against 2008 NCAA tournament participant Texas in Austin. The Horned Frogs will also play away matches against Rice, Colorado College, Denver, Weber State and Alabama, who played in SEC post-season action last fall.

The Horned Frogs' conference schedule consists of three home matches and four road games. TCU will host Air Force, Wyoming and San Diego State. TCU's MWC road schedule includes games at New Mexico, Utah, BYU, who captured the MWC title in 2008, and UNLV.

The Horned Frogs will open their regular season on the road against NCAA tournament-qualifier Texas on Friday, Aug. 21. Following its game against the Longhorns, TCU will travel back to Fort Worth to take on UTSA on Friday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m., Houston Baptist on Sunday, Aug 30 and Texas Tech to open the month of September.

Following the three-match home stand, TCU will continue road action against Rice on Sept. 6 in Houston. The Frogs will then travel to Colorado Spring, Colo., for matches against Colorado College and Denver, who fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last fall, on Sept. 11 and Sept. 13, respectively. The Purple and White will continue action the next week in Lubbock, Texas with a Friday-Sunday matchup against Weber State and Alabama.

TCU will closeout its home non-conference slate with a match against Stephen F. Austin on Sept. 25 and a contest against TWU on Sept. 27. The Horned Frogs will enter conference play with an away match against New Mexico on Saturday, Oct. 3. The Purple and White will quickly turn around and travel back to Fort Worth, to face Air Force on Thursday, Oct. 8 and Wyoming on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Beginning on Thursday, Oct. 15, TCU will travel to Salt Lake City, Utah for a match against Utah before closing out the road swing on Saturday, Oct. 17 against 2008 MWC Champion BYU in Provo.

Following an away contest on Oct. 23 against UNLV, TCU will close its regular season at home against San Diego State on Oct. 30.

The Mountain West Conference tournament will take place on Nov. 4-7 in Provo, Utah.
