Soccer Announces 2014 Schedule

FORT WORTH - TCU soccer head coach Eric Bell has announced the 2014 schedule. The 18-game slate includes nine home games and nine road contests. Five of the 18 opponents appeared in the 2013 NCAA tournament.

For the second straight season, the Horned Frogs will open away from home when they head to the northwest for a pair of matches. The season opener on Aug. 22 will pit the Frogs against 2013 postseason participant, Washington State. TCU will head over the border for an Aug. 24 tilt against Idaho.

TCU will open up its home schedule Aug. 29 against Missouri. The match starts a string of four straight at Garvey-Rosenthal. Aug. 31 will see another NCAA participant opposing the Frogs as they host UCF. LSU will make its way to Fort Worth on Sept. 5 and the homestand will conclude with a Sept. 7 match against Abilene Christian.

The Frogs will hit the road for a pair of games Sept. 12 and 14. First up is a Friday tilt at Texas State. The road trip concludes with a Sunday match at Sam Houston State.

TCU will wrap up its non-conference slate the weekend of Sept. 19. The Frogs will host SMU the 19th before heading up I-35 for a Sept. 21 meeting at North Texas.

The Big 12 slate opens with a pair of home matches against West Virginia (Sept. 26) and Kansas (Sept. 28).

Three straight road matches follow beginning Oct. 3 at Baylor. A trip to Oklahoma follows as the Frogs will take on Oklahoma State (Oct. 10) and Oklahoma (Oct. 12).

TCU will conclude its home schedule with a pair of matches against Texas (Oct. 17) and Texas Tech (Oct. 19). A road contest at Iowa State on Oct. 31 wraps the regular season.

The top eight teams in the Big 12 will qualify for the Big 12 Championships held as Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City. The tournament runs from Nov. 5-9.
