Aug. 8, 2018

FORT WORTH – In a vote of Big 12 coaches, two TCU soccer Horned Frogs were selected to the Big 12 Preseason All-Conference team. Senior Karitas Tomasdottir and sophomore Yazmeen Ryan were recognized by the league coaches.

Tomasdottir has been a mainstay on the field for the Frogs the last three seasons. Last season, she was one of seven to play in and start all 22 matches. Tomasdottir played the entirety of 15 matches. She tied for third on the team with four goals scored and pitched in an assist for nine points. At the conclusion of the season, she was named second-team All-South Region.

Ryan had an outstanding debut season tying for third with four goals, five assists and 13 points. Two of her four goals stood up as game-winners. Her efforts landed her a spot on the Big 12 All-Conference second team and All-Freshmen team. She was also tabbed a third-team All-South Region player.

Preparations for the 2018 season are well underway. The Horned Frogs kick off the 2018-19 athletic season on Aug. 17 against NCAA tournament participant Alabama. Game time at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
