Soccer Hosts UTSA Sunday Afternoon

Sept. 19, 2015

FORT WORTH - The TCU women's soccer team will look to close out its non-conference schedule on a winning note when it hosts UTSA Sunday afternoon at 1. The game will be televised on FSSW+ in HD only.

The Horned Frogs are coming off a dominating 2-0 win at SMU on Friday night. TCU didn't allow SMU to register a shot on goal en route to its fourth shutout of the season. Offensively, the Horned Frogs were led by a two-goal performance from freshman McKenzie Oliver. The goals were the first two of her career. TCU enters the match with a 5-4 record having outscored its opponents 12-2 in the last six games.

UTSA is winless through its first seven matches this season. The Roadrunners have faced stiff competition in playing North Carolina, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Baylor this season. Sam Batley and Savannah Struck pace the team with two goals each. In goal, the Roadrunners have used three keepers. Katherine Tesno has seen the most action with six games played and 343 minutes of action.

TCU has owned the series against the Roadrunners with a perfect 5-0-0 mark. The Horned Frogs are 3-0 all time against UTSA in Fort Worth. The Frogs and the Roadrunners haven’t met since the 2010 season when the Frogs claimed a 4-1 win in San Antonio. The last time UTSA was in Fort Worth came in 2009 when the Frogs won 1-0.
