TCU Opens Big 12 Play At Oklahoma Friday

FORT WORTH - TCU rides an eight-match unbeaten streak into the start of Big 12 play Friday night. The Horned Frogs travel to Oklahoma for their first league game. Match time is set for 6:30 p.m. and will be televised on FOX Sports Oklahomas.
With its 4-1 win over Austin Peay on Friday, TCU has set a new standard for best start to a year at 7-0-1.
TCU is tied for sixth in the NCAA with an average of 3.0 goals per game.
TCU is tied for the fewest goals allowed (4) in the Big 12.
Emma Heckendorn, tied for the national lead with eight assists, has tied the TCU single season record for assists.
Kayla Hill has a point in five straight matches entering the weekend.
Katie Lund leads the Big 12 with a .909 save percentage.
Oklahoma enters Friday's contest carrying a five match winning streak. The Sooners have outscored their opponents 14-4 during the winning streak.
Oklahoma has played a trio of ranked opponents this season going 1-1-1.
Liz Keester, the reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, leads the Sooners with six goals and three assists.
Kassidie Stade has played every minute in goal this season and boasts a 0.98 GAA.
TCU-OKLAHOMA SERIES NOTABLES
TCU and Oklahoma are meeting for the 13th time on the soccer pitch.
Oklahoma leads the series 7-2-3, but each of the last two seasons, the teams have played to a tie.
TCU is 0-5-1 all-time in Norman, but left Norman with a 1-1 tie in its last trip on Nov. 12, 2014.
Oklahoma holds 2-0-2 series lead since TCU joined the Big 12 in 2012.
History was made Friday night when TCU topped Austin Peay 4-1 to improve to 7-0-1 on the season. The 2016 squad has set a pair of new standards for starts to a season, first by going 5-0 to open the year, then to push its undefeated start to 7-0-1. The eight game undefeated streak is the also the longest in program history. Dating back to last season, the Frogs are undefeated in their last 12 games (7-0-5).
TCU is one of just eight schools nationally to be undefeated through the first five weeks of the season. Three schools (Central Michigan, Northwestern and South Florida) boast a 1.000 winning percentage. Four other programs (Bucknell, South Carolina, Stanford and Lehigh) all have just one tie on its records.
Kayla Hill has quietly become one of the top point producers on the squad this season. She has scored four goals, while assisting on five others. Hill enters the weekend carrying a five-match point streak in which she has produced all of her 13 points. During the streak she has been apart of multiple goals on three occasions.
A HELPING HAND
Just eight games into the season, Emma Heckendorn has already claimed a school record. She picked up a pair of assists in the win over Austin Peay to give her eight on the year, tying a school record held by Libby Tappan (1988) and Carolina Starns (2005). Her stellar start has helped her catapult up the career charts. She is tied with Makenzie Koch for third with 15 career assists. With four more assists, she will own the career mark.
