Sept. 24, 2013

FORT WORTH - TCU women's soccer freshman Michelle Prokof has been named the Big 12 Offensive and Newcomer Player of the Week. The honors are the first of her career. She is the sixth player in Big 12 history to earn both accolades in the same week.

Prokof was responsible for all four goals scored by the Horned Frogs last week. She became the first TCU player since 2009 to record a hat trick, netting all three goals in the 3-0 win against Central Arkansas. Her other goal came in Friday's 1-1 tie with No. 14 Denver. She gave TCU the 1-0 lead early in the game.

For the week, Prokof recorded four goals for eight points. Six of her seven shots were on goal and she scored on four of her seven shots.

TCU opens up conference play Friday night at Texas. The game will air nationally on the Longhorn Network. First kick is set for 7 p.m.
