Soccer Hosts SMU Sunday Under The Lights

FORT WORTH - The TCU women's soccer team will start a brief two-match homestand Sunday night when it hosts SMU in its final non-conference contest of the season. Match time is set for 7 p.m.

ABOUT THE FROGS
TCU saw its eight match undefeated streak come to an end with a 1-0 loss at Oklahoma on Friday night. The lone goal allowed by the Horned Frogs came on a penalty kick in the match's 15th minute. Michelle Prokof led the offense with two shots. Defensively, the Frogs held the Sooners to just 13 shots, only three of which were on goal.

SMU NOTABLES
SMU enters the weekend carrying a three match winning streak. The Mustangs lead the nation with an average of 3.50 goals per game.Allie Thornton passed the Mustang offense with eight goals and three assists. Vanessa Valadez is nipping her heels with five goals and five assists. Catie Brown has played the majority of the season in goal, but has stopped just nine of the 19 shots she has faced.

TCU-SMU SERIES NOTABLES
TCU and SMU are meeting for the 32nd time on the soccer pitch. SMU holds a 27-2-2 lead in the all-time series, but TCU enters Sunday with a two-match winning streak in the series. SMU is 14-1-2 all-time in Fort Worth, but dropped a 4-1 decision to the Frogs in its last visit on Sept. 19, 2014. SMU is TCU’s most-played opponent in program history.
