TCU Heads Back Into C-USA Action

Fort Worth, Texas - The TCU Horned Frogs soccer team returns to Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium after a two-week absence. The Frogs will face a pair of Conference USA foes this weekend. Southern Miss comes calling on Friday in a 3:00 match. On Sunday, league-leading Tulane will visit TCU. Game time for the match is set for 1:00.

The Frogs are coming off a big road win at Houston last Friday. The Frogs fell behind in the first half 1-0, but scored three goals in the second half to take the match by a 3-2 score. Jessi Moore scored two goals for the Frogs and Amy Van Zandt picked up the game-winning goal with less than a minute remaining in the game for her sixth goal of the season and her third game-winner.

Van Zandt Strikes Again
*With less than a minute to go and the scored knotted at two, Amy Van Zandt took matters into her own hands as she buried a shot in the back of the goal for her sixth goal of the season, giving the Frogs a 3-2 road win over Houston. The game-winning goal was her third of the season

Moore and More, We Love Her
*Jessi Moore connected twice for TCU in the win over Houston. With the Frogs trailing 1-0, Moore scored the equalizer in the 56th minute. Two minutes later, Moore gave the Frogs the lead with a blistering shot over the goalkeepers head. Overall, Moore has racked up four goals and tallied three assists.

Surprise, Surprise!
*TCU was picked by the coaches to finish 12th out of 14 teams in Conference USA. The Frogs have surprised everyone, winning four of their first five contests to open up C-USA action. The win on Friday put them a half-game back of first place. The Frogs are on their way to qualifying for the Conference Championship Tournament in Charlotte, N.C. The top eight teams qualify for the Tournament It will be the first time they have qualified for the C-USA Tournament in team history.

Tougher Than Tough
*The Frogs have racked up 15 yellow cards this season, including five in the last two games. TCU has been given a card in all but three matches so far this season.

TCU vs. Southern Miss
*Conference foe Southern Miss heads to Fort Worth on Friday. TCU is winless in two tries against the Golden Eagles. Southern Miss picked up a 3-1 victory last season at Garvey-Rosenthal and a 3-0 decision in Hattiesburg in 2001. Former Frog, Lori Robbins scored the lone goal against the Eagles.

TCU vs. Tulane
*Sunday's meeting with the Green Wave will be the third one between the schools. Tulane holds a 2-0 advantage in those meetings. The Green Wave picked up a 2-1 victory in 2001 in Fort Worth and recorded a 4-0 decision last season in New Orleans. Current Frog Laura Greenberg has the only goal against Tulane.

Scouting The Golden Eagles
*After getting out to a 5-0-1 start this season, the Golden Eagles fell on some hard times. To open up the Conference season, Southern Miss went 0-4-1. The Golden Eagles picked up their first conference win on Sunday in a 1-0 victory over USF. The Eagles are led by Carley Barkley's seven goals. Ana Snyder has been steady in goal, picking up six shutouts so far this season, including a string of four straight. She has a GAA of 1.10.
